At The Hero Company, we believe some stories deserve to become a mission. Bobby Kissner and his PTSD service dog, Maverick, have inspired thousands by showing what life with a trained service dog can make possible. After Bobby was diagnosed with PTSD following a serious car accident, Maverick helped him navigate airports, crowds, stadiums, concerts, and everyday moments that once felt overwhelming.
What started as Bobby simply sharing life with Maverick has grown into something much bigger. Together, they’ve traveled the country, attended major sporting events, appeared at concerts, and even shared the stage with Keith Urban — but the real story is not the spotlight. It’s the message behind it: PTSD does not have to define a person’s life, and service dogs can help people reclaim freedom, confidence, and joy.
The Hero Company is proud to be partnering with Bobby and Maverick on the new Paws 4 Encouragement podcast, created in partnership with Hero Company and the Heroes Rise Foundation. The show will focus on PTSD, service dogs, mental health, overcoming adversity, and the barriers many people face when trying to access a service dog.
